Premier league Match-Day 17: Chelsea face Champions, Battle of the Reds

Chelsea vs Leicester City:

The current Premier League leaders Chelsea face the current League champions Leicester City. The sides have met 108 times since their beginning of their journey and Chelsea have had the upper hand. Winning  53 times, while losing just 25 matches and getting even at 30.

The last time the clubs met at League Cup ,which turned out to be Chelsea’s night. Leicester have won just one of their last nine Premier league games against Chelsea. Though it was this exact fixture last season( D1, L7)

After last year’s devastating result for Chelsea, Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri said that they won’t do what Chelsea did. But seems to have failed to worked on that Statement as Leicester are placed 15 in the League.

Chelsea still has a five point lead to Liverpool but after losing their last match to Tottenham they might be low on confidence. Because of no European football this season Chelsea just have the Premier league and FA Cup to focus on.

  Liverpool vs Manchester United

Manchester United and Liverpool are two of the biggest clubs in England’s history. This will be the 50th Premier League meeting Between the two sides. United have won 27 of the previous 49. Losing just 13 and playing draw 9 times.

Liverpool visit Old Trafford where the have lost 11 in their last 14 visit in the premier league, winning just three of them.

Manchester United are on a winning run,  winning their last 6 Premier League matches. While,  Liverpool drew their last meeting against Sunderland.

There is however is a five points difference between the current League leaders Chelsea and second place Liverpool.

Manchester City vs Everton

As the run for the Premier League title continue, Manchester city are a team to focus on. While their rivals Everton are far behind them in the points rally.

Everton are winless in their last 7 Premier  league matches against Manchester city(D3,  L4).  Prior to this, the had won 6 of their 8 against City ( D1,  L1).

Both Manchester city and Everton won their last premium league meeting. However,  city should be concerned about Everton’s inform striker Romelu Lukaku.
